CHILDREN IN CRISIS…FINDING HEALING AND RESTORATION

Have you, or anyone you know, ever needed a safe haven from abuse, hunger, abandonment, or worse?  Hopefully not, but for the children who call Place of Hope home, this little community is a ray of sunshine in a life clouded with terror and grief.

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, Place of Hope held their annual Hope Bash Boca event at Broken Sound Club.  This event raises vital funds to support the children and youth in their programs and ensure a bright future for them, and all event funds raised go directly to the programs and services Place of Hope provides.

Among those in attendance were Marta and James Batmasian, local business owners and philanthropists, who were so impressed and deeply moved by what Place of Hope is doing that they made a significant donation to the organization through their James H and Marta T Batmasian Family Foundation.  “We owe our children, the most vulnerable people in our world, a life free of horror and fear”, said Jim, “and our culture must have a shared and uncompromising agreement when it comes to that.”  A devoted wife, mother, and adoring grandmother of three girls, Marta went on to add, “we must always remember that children are the ultimate gift God gives to us, and understand that their souls are truly our greatest responsibility.”

Place of Hope is a unique, faith-based, state-licensed child welfare organization providing family-style foster care (emergency and long-term) for “hard-to-place” and other “special needs” foster children, family outreach and intervention, comprehensive maternity care, safety for victims of labor and sex trafficking, transitional housing and support services for transitioning and emancipated foster and other homeless youth, adoption and foster care recruitment and support, hope, and healing opportunities for children and families who have been traumatized by abuse and neglect.  They strive to foster and support healthy and productive lives, free from fear, endangerment, and most of all, abuse. Children and families can find dignity, guidance, and hope through various programs and efforts at Place of Hope.
